Two new trailers for the sublime Black Myth: Wukong. Unreal Engine 5 and NVIDIA DLSS technology work wonders, but there is no release date yet.
For two years now, in August, the Chinese developer Game Science Studio has been offering new gameplay images of their upcoming action-RPG Black Myth: Wukong. A way to keep the fans interested, wait for the long-awaited release and show the progress made in the development of the game.
Two new trailers for the sublime Black Myth: Wukong
This year is no exception. The studio has shared a trailer showing at least eight minutes of gameplay and another six minutes of in-game cutscenes. Like last year’s big announcement of Unreal Engine 5, the first video is a real demo of NVIDIA’s DLSS AI-powered scaling technology, and you can easily see the difference, which this – and a whole year of work – affects the frame rate. Compared to last year’s trailer, the action here is much smoother and frame rate drops are much less frequent.

These videos also provide an opportunity to see Game Science Studio take on the From Software Souls formula through some very interesting aspects. For example, the protagonist takes a plant, and when he is about to pull it out of the ground, the plant turns out to be an enemy that can pin the player in place, leaving them vulnerable to its devastating attacks. This is a very good reuse of From Software chests that keep you on your toes at all times.
As for the cinematic trailer, it offers a fresh take on the game inspired by Wukong’s Journey to the West. It’s hard to see how the scenes we see will fit into the story that Game Science will tell you, but the studio has a certain talent for animation.
but still no release date
Unfortunately, as tempting as these trailers are, none of them provide a release date for the game. In 2020, Game Science Studio explained that it wants to bring Black Myth: Wukong to PC and consoles during 2023. the issue of a release date was never raised. Is the schedule still up? Hope.
