Blizzard Announces Warcraft Mobile Project

Is Blizzard releasing a new mobile game based on Warcraft? It deserves to arouse the curiosity of the fans.

The video game market is in constant flux. Studios and publishers must evolve and develop their licenses or they risk disappearing. Whether you’re an independent studio or a huge studio like Blizzard. The latter also intends to bring Warcraft back to the forefront of the mobile scene, at least with a new mobile project.

Is Blizzard releasing a new mobile game based on Warcraft?

Blizzard’s Warcraft series is mostly PC-only. There is Hearthstone based on the Warcraft universe and available on mobile devices, but they are not really the same thing. However, everything can change as soon as the studio has publicly presented the Warcraft mobile game project.

This was reported in a press release from Blizzard. It states: “Blizzard is planning new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including new experiences in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, and will offer brand new Warcraft mobile content for the first time.”

It deserves to arouse the curiosity of the fans.

It’s hard to know what kind of mobile experience we’re talking about. The company has a mobile app for World of Warcraft, but aside from being able to check out their characters, players can’t “play”the game in the traditional sense. It’s also hard to know if this announcement is synonymous with a new type of app or a true Warcraft mobile game.

The latter option would of course be more exciting, especially since mods like tower defense games were very popular in Warcraft 3. So, who knows, maybe we should expect such a game. Blizzard is known for taking their time with their games. Therefore, you most likely should not expect to enjoy this game for a long time.
