Blizzard is hosting an Overwatch 2 event on June 16th, an opportunity to announce the next beta and future releases.
The first Overwatch 2 PvP beta ended just recently, and Blizzard is already gearing up to unveil the sequel reserved for the game at a special event on June 16th. At the moment, there are very few details, but no doubt the studio will provide information about the upcoming PvP beta, as well as outline their roadmap for the coming months.
Blizzard will host an Overwatch 2 event on June 16th.
Blizzard may also use this event to address some of the criticisms that have been raised about this first beta. In addition to the new hero Sojourn and four new maps, the beta introduced a new game mode, an improved game engine, some major changes to many heroes, and most importantly, teams that used to have 6 players and now only 5. Too much for some. a lot of changes, not enough for some.
“Overwatch as a world, as a universe, is very personal to the team; this is what we put our time, our creative energy and all our passion into,”game director Aaron Keller wrote in a letter to fans. “It can be scary to publish something that means so much, to leave it to critics. Especially when you know it’s not over yet and ask for critical and constructive feedback on your work. But the reason we’re doing it is important: to make the game better, and our players and our community make it possible.”
Opportunity to announce the next beta and future releases
The Overwatch 2 team has stated that in this first beta, they have focused on testing specific elements such as new maps, the transition to 5v5, balancing, and version and server stability. She promises that more features, heroes, and maps will come in future betas. Blizzard will do its best to convince naysayers that the studio is on the right track with Overwatch 2, with major updates likely coming next month.
At the same time, a new event has just started in the original game, allowing players to collect new skins and play in time-limited modes. This will keep fans waiting for the next beta.
