Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2: How To Get The Platinum Camouflage (Steps Explained)

If you want to make your weapons look amazing with unique skins, you can do it with camouflage. The Mastery Camo set includes Gold, Polyatomic, Orion as well as Platinum camo that you can unlock for your weapons in COD MW2 and this guide will show you how to unlock and get the shiny silver skin.

How to unlock platinum camo in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

If you don’t know how to upgrade to the Platinum Mastery camo in COD Modern Warfare, follow these steps:

  • Select the weapon for which you want to unlock the platinum camo. Take, for example, the M4 assault rifle.
  • First, you need to unlock the Golden Camouflage for him. To do this, you need to level up your weapons, unlock the Basic Camouflage challenges, complete them, and when you complete all 4, the Golden Camouflage challenge will unlock. Go ahead and complete it to get a golden camo for your M4.
  • Now do this for every other weapon in that weapon class – in this example it’s the assault rifle class.
  • Once you unlock the golden camo for every weapon in the class, you will be able to unlock the Platinum Camouflage challenge in COD MW2.
  • And when you complete this Platinum Mastery challenge, you will receive a platinum camo.

The Golden Camouflage Challenges will be as follows:

  • Getting a certain amount of kills from a weapon.
  • Getting kills during ADS.
  • Getting double kills.
  • Getting kills from behind.
  • Getting a kill streak without dying.

The platinum challenge can be harder or more tiring. For example, for the Battle Rifle FTAC Recon, the goal is to score 25 long-range kills with this weapon. Similarly, you must get 25 kills with Longshot from SO-14 and so on. So, equip the golden mastery camo and start grinding platinum.

Youtuber LegoUnlocked suggests that the best way to get these longshots is by playing Invasion mode. As he discovered, killing bots does not count towards the camouflage challenge.

If you want to get platinum in every weapon category, here’s all you need to tick off in turn:

  • assault rifles
  • Battle rifles
  • Shooting rifles
  • Sniper rifles
  • submachine guns
  • LMG
  • Pistols
  • Launchers
  • Steel arms
