CoD Modern Warfare 2 is set to release on October 28th and players want to preload multiplayer. Luckily, the mode is available for pre-download, and you can do it whether you’re playing on PC or consoles. So, let’s quickly check how you can download CoD MW2 multiplayer on PC, PlayStation and Xbox in advance.

How to preload multiplayer for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

You can pre-download Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 from your client on PC or from your library on consoles after pre-ordering the game. Here is how you can preload the game for different platforms:

  • Battle.net

  • Xbox

On PC, the game will require at least 72 GB of free space. Therefore, you should clear it if you don’t have much free space.

Battle.net

  1. Launch Battle.net and go to Modern Warfare 2.
  2. Click on the update button if available. Or on the install button if you haven’t installed the game.

Steam – Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Preload

  1. Launch Steam and go to your library.
  2. Find MW2 and open it.
  3. Here, click the update button or the install button.

Game console

  1. Go to the game library.
  2. Next, go to your collection.
  3. Find Modern Warfare 2 and open it.
  4. If you’re using PS5, you can choose the PS4 or PS5 version of the game.
  5. Click Download. This will prompt the add-ins to install. Make sure you check out the multiplayer package here. Of course, you can install all of them. The options you get will be disabled.

  6. After selecting them, click the “Install”button.

Xbox

  1. Go to My games & apps.
  2. Next, go to “Manage Updates”.
  3. Here click “Updates”.
  4. Now open MW2 and click Update.
  5. From here, return to the games and open Modern Warfare 2.
  6. Click on it and select Manage Installation.
  7. Check out the add-ons for the game: multiplayer, co-op and campaign.
  8. Next, click save changes.
  9. The MW2 multiplayer preload will begin on your Xbox.

When can you start preloading Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer?

You can preload MW2 multiplayer from October 26th. Campaign Mode is available for pre-download starting October 19, 2022. So, as of this writing, you can start preloading the game if you haven’t already. Here’s when the preload unlocks:
