How to increase prestige in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (prestige system and ranks)
Unlike previous iterations of COD, where you can max out and start over at level 1, Modern Warfare 2 has a different system. COD MW2 now has a seasonal prestige cycle. This means that at the start of each new season, your rank will reset. Right now, the maximum level you can reach in MW2 multiplayer is level 55. These 55 levels are called military ranks. You can earn weapon platforms, lethal/tactical gear, perks, killstreaks, and field upgrades by leveling up. There are several ways you can rank up faster by gaining XP.

- Raising military ranks
Does this mean you won’t get a prestigious rank in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2?
This is wrong. On November 16, when the Battle Pass launches, you will be able to get Prestige in COD MW2 by reaching the maximum level. New levels of Prestige will be added every new season of the game, and you will be able to rise again to the highest rank.
After reaching rank 55 in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Once you reach rank 55, a weapon platform will become available to you, where you can customize your weapons with attachments and equipment. Each weapon has its own unique development tree and you can start working on it. You can also start sanding down your Camo Progression. At launch, over 180 unique camouflages are available, divided into two types: basic camouflages and mastery camouflages.
