You must unlock custom gear in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 if you plan to play the multiplayer game. This is a feature that allows you to create presets with weapons and equipment of your choice. And having multiple builds will help you experiment with your game in the multiplayer matches of this game. How to create your own equipment in CoD MW2

You can create your own loadout class or customize existing loadouts in the Networked Gear section of the Weapons tab in CoD MW2. The Weapons tab gives you the ability to change your multiplayer loadout, killstreak, and vehicle setup. Once you unlock custom gear by reaching level 5, you will be able to edit and create new outfits of your choice. Here is how you can create them:

  1. Click “Network Download”in the “Weapons”tab on the main screen.
  2. The screen will then display all of your existing downloads.
  3. To create an individual outfit, click the “+”button to the left of the outfit.
  4. And, to customize an existing download, click on any of the download options on the right.
  5. In your gear, you can change the following things:
    • Main weapon
      • assault rifles
      • Battle rifles
      • submachine guns
      • Shotguns
      • LMG
      • Shooting rifles
      • Sniper rifles
      • Steel arms
    • Secondary Weapon (Same weapon options as your primary weapon)
    • tactical gear
    • Lethal gear
    • Perk Pack
    • Field update
  6. After you equip and change the above weapons and equipment. You can return and your personal download will be ready.
  7. Now all you have to do is equip the gear and you can use it in the game’s multiplayer mode.

Keep in mind that you can only have 10 custom gear sets.

How to unlock custom equipment in CoD MW2

As mentioned earlier, you can unlock custom gear by reaching level 5 in the game. Although there is a persistent issue that blocks it even after you are at that level.
