Banned for no reason in Modern Warfare 2? You are not alone. Fans of COD who have been waiting for a new game from the franchise, have been playing the campaign mode with excitement and experiencing crashes, have encountered a strange problem. They get a permanent ban in COD MW2 without any cheating or hacking. This can be frustrating, especially after spending at least $70 to buy the game. If this has happened to you, you will need to file an appeal to have the MW2 ban lifted and start playing again.
How to Appeal to Remove a Permanent Ban in COD MW2
Since you were banned by mistake, you can ask the developers to remove and cancel your ban by following the steps below.
- First, go to the Activision support page “Ban Appeal”. You can land right there by clicking here.
- Here you can submit a support ticket to appeal an account fine.
- Click Sign In, enter your credentials for the same account you are locked out of, and then click Continue.
- You will see a pop-up window – click “Agree and continue”.
- You will now see if you are eligible to appeal. Please note that temporary bans and pending accounts cannot be appealed. Activision also mentions that the bans will only be lifted if we determine that the violation was due to unauthorized activity on your Activision account.
- End the process from here and hopefully your permanent ban will be lifted.
Some players have been banned from running the Scan and Repair tool through the Battle.net Launcher, and some have been banned after the game crashed. Since this is a common issue for many players, it will most likely be fixed in the next patch and all players that are mistakenly banned will be unbanned. Of course, Activision doesn’t want to lose this player base. But to be on the safe side, appeal your ban to COD MW2 by submitting a ticket and see how they respond.
