Call of Duty has just released a new cinematic trailer for Classified Arms, a free content update coming soon to Vanguard, Warzone. Along with that, the developers seem to be hinting at the arrival of something or someone that fans might be familiar with. The developers have tweeted about a “mysterious frequency”from the cache that hints at future content in the game.
HeckinBrandon, a fan, transcribed the frequency on Audacity and seems to say “Monsters are real”. That on its own may not have been too exciting given that Call of Duty often experiments with the introduction of the undead, but there’s a good chance it could mean something more.
Earlier this year, Tom Henderson revealed that Activision may have plans to introduce King Kong and Godzilla to Warzone.
Call of Duty Warzone may soon have King Kong and Godzilla
Henderson reported seeing images of King Kong and Godzilla in Warzone, with one particular image of Kong shooting down a World War II aircraft from the sky. In other images, Godzilla destroys ground troops with his signature atomic breath.
While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, Henderson’s leaks coupled with the new teaser, there’s a very real possibility that the developers will finally release two Titans into the war zone soon. Both King Kong and Godzilla have now almost become an integral part of modern pop culture as well as gaming, appearing in games like PUBG Mobile.
What effect they will have on gameplay is unclear, but they may play a similar role to the leviathans in Apex Legends, where they stomped on players in Kings Canyon from time to time, but never interfered with gameplay in any major way. However, it seems that it would be more interesting to make them a main part of the game.
