Capcom announced Street Fighter 6

After almost a week of teasers and hints, Capcom has officially confirmed Street Fighter 6. The teaser from Capcom does not contain any gameplay footage, but it looks noticeably more “photorealistic”compared to previous Street Fighter games.

Whether the teaser trailer’s art style matches the final product is anyone’s guess, but rest assured, the game is now one of Capcom’s most anticipated releases. Along with the teaser, Capcom also confirmed that more Street Fighter 6 news will be available in Summer 2022.

There is currently no announced release window for the game, but since Capcom will announce more information in the summer of 2022, it is possible that the game is slated for release later in the year or even early 2023.

Street Fighter 6 and Capcom Fighting Collection Announced

Capcom is also introducing the Capcom Fighting Collection, which includes 10 classic action movies with the Online Rollback netcode. The collection will be available from June 24, 2022. The collection includes:

  • Darkstalkers: Night Warriors
  • Night Warriors: Revenge of the Darkness Hunters
  • Vampire Savior: Vampire Lord
  • Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers’ Revenge (first official North American release)
  • Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire (first official North American release)
  • Red Earth (first release outside arcades)
  • Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness
  • Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
  • Hyper Street Fighter 2

The collection will include additional features such as an art gallery, a music player with hundreds of tracks, and more.

Street Fighter is one of the most iconic gaming franchises and continues to be one of the most popular esports titles in the world. It will be interesting to see if Capcom decides to play with the formula and try something new, or stick with what has worked for several decades and add more polish instead.
