It’s been two decades since CD Projekt RED made its debut on the video game development scene.
In twenty years, CD Projekt RED has become an important name in the world of video games. The Witcher franchise has sold over 65 million copies, and the third installment, Wild Hunt, has received critical acclaim. The new saga is also being developed with the new Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine. Despite launch failures, lies and other misadventures, Cyberpunk 2077 has also become a globally recognized license, spawning its own Cyberpunk animated series.: Edgerunners, created in collaboration with animation studio Trigger, will be released on the Netflix streaming platform next September. The Polish studio is currently working on an expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, which will be released in 2023.

“When we started, we didn’t know the do’s and don’ts of the video game industry. We were rebels from the very beginning and had to learn everything ourselves, ”says Adam Badowski, director of CD Projekt RED. “It gave us the freedom to develop our games in our own way, and that particular personal touch formed the backbone of our DNA, which, as you can see, has shaped our games. The last twenty years have been exciting and fruitful for us in unpredictable ways, and we are very proud of our achievements and the fact that we can always count on the support of our community. This is what we all treasure here
20 years of passion for CD Projekt RED and its fans
CD Projekt RED has had a close relationship with gamers since day one, and their years of support have put the studio where it is today. Gamers have always been at the heart of CDPR’s work and mission, and the newly announced celebrations are how the studio shares this special event with its equally special community. To that end, the Polish studio has launched its own website to celebrate its 20th anniversary, which invites community members to share their own memories of CD Projekt RED and its games through photos, screenshots, illustrations and more.
