‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ changes media timeline

Disney is calling on the National Film Center (CNC) to change the media chronology at the request of viewers:

The authorities have clearly recognized the need to modernize the media chronology, and a precise timetable has now been agreed to discuss this issue. Because of this, The Walt Disney Company has decided to confirm the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel Studios’ new movie, on November 9th. As stated earlier, the current media timeline does not match viewer behavior and expectations, is counterproductive, and puts all producers and artists at increased risk of piracy. For all these reasons, we share the opinion of the majority of players in our sector, who agree that it needs to be completely overhauled. As we have done so far, we will contribute constructively to the reflection and debate during the next meetings with all players in the sector, organized under the auspices of the CNC, to determine from February 2023 a new structure that we want to be fair, flexible and stimulating for films to enter theaters. In the meantime, we will continue to determine the release strategy for our films on a case-by-case basis.
