‘Black Mirror’ season 6 is in the works after a three-year hiatus

The dystopian series Black Mirror will return to Netflix for a sixth season.

Still with Charlie Brooker and Annabelle Jones at the helm, Black Mirror Season 6 will feature more episodes than Season 5, which had just three episodes and featured comedians Andrew Scott, Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace and Miley Cyrus. The casting continues. A source close to the production also claims that the final season has an even more cinematic dimension, with each episode being treated as its own movie. In line with later seasons of Black Mirror, where episodes typically exceeded 60 minutes and had incredibly high production values.

Black Mirror Returns to Netflix

The new season of Black Mirror will be the first to see the light of day since creator Charlie Brooker and his creative partner Annabelle Jones left their Endemol Shine Group-backed production company, House of Tomorrow, in January 2020. It took the duo a long time to settle under the new Broke and Bones production banner, and Netflix quickly invested in the company through a mega deal in which the streaming service pays back shares over a period of time, five years, for an amount that could be as high as $100. million dollars.
