Libhooker, a tweaking method often used by CoolStar-related jailbreaks, including Odyssey for iOS and iPadOS 13 and Taurine for iOS and iPadOS 14, has been officially opened.
The Odyssey team announced via Twitter late Sunday that CoolStar had released the libhooker source code to GitHub and that the Darwin branch for iOS and iPadOS devices would be actively maintained by an anonymous developer.
Regardless, CoolStar will continue to support Linux and Windows ARM64 branches going forward, echoing CoolStar’s recent decision to leave the jailbreak community and instead focus its energy on alternative non-iPhone projects.
Libhooker was supposed to be used as the main tweak method in the already canceled Cheyote jailbreak that would support iOS and iPadOS 15.0-15.1.1, but it remains to be seen if it will be used in the upcoming Fugu15 Max jailbreak for iOS and iPadOS 15.0-15.4. 1. Currently, developer Lars Fröder is using an alternative method for injecting customizations.
Now that libhooker’s source code is open, anyone can view its source code and see how it works “under the hood”. The source code can be viewed on the project’s GitHub page.
