CD Projekt RED is releasing patch 1.5 for Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles and PC.
With the 1.5 Next-Gen Update, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally taking advantage of next-gen consoles such as ray tracing, 4K resolution with dynamic upscaling, faster loading times, and a host of other visual and technical improvements. On PS5, CD Projekt RED’s FPS RPG will take full advantage of the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback features.
The new update also brings many changes and improvements to all versions of Cyberpunk 2077. These include additional performance and stability optimizations, gameplay and economy changes, open world, map usage, as well as new relationship interactions and an updated repair system. In addition, new items of free additional content were also introduced, including apartments for rent, new equipment, or even character customization options.
Update 1.5 patch note
New generation exclusive
- Adding Localized Light Shadows in Ray Tracing
- Added Original Achievements in Next Gen Console Compatibility Mode (Because the Next Gen Version uses different WeUs, PlayStation Trophies earned in backwards compatibility mode will not carry over. Xbox Achievements will automatically carry over to the new version thanks to the smart delivery feature)
- Added two new graphics modes for PS5 and Xbox Series X: performance mode and ray tracing mode.
- Performance mode delivers smooth 60fps gaming with enhanced resolution in dynamic 4K.
- Ray tracing mode delivers photorealistic rendering of shadows and reflections, as well as enhanced gameplay at 30fps in dynamic 4K.
- The Xbox Series S version lacks graphics mode selection and defaults to 30fps at 1440p with dynamic upscaling.
- Performance improvements to significantly reduce FPS drops and improve rendering quality.
- HDR balancing to achieve parity across all platforms
- Various visual quality improvements
- Spanish dubbing support for the Americas region (PlayStation codes: CUSA-16596 and CUSA-16597). Due to technical limitations, this expansion is only available on next generation consoles.
- Added support for spatial audio on PS5 for headsets and built-in TV speakers that support 3D audio using Tempest 3D AudioTech for PS5.
- DualSense haptic feedback is now tailored to in-game actions.
- The DualSense controller’s built-in speaker is used for voice calls, text messages, and anything V can think of.
DLC add-ons
- The apartments can be rented (with a one-time payment) when you find them in Night City or on the EZEstates website (only available via the computer in Vee’s apartment in the H10 mega building). They will become available when you complete the “Time Attack”quest. You can rent all apartments at the same time and they use the same cache.
- You can now set up Vee’s default apartment in Megabuilding H10 for €10,000 thanks to EZEstates: Northside, Watson (€5,000), Japantown, Westbrook (€15,000), The Glen, Heywood (€40,000) and Corpo Plaza at city center (€ 55,000)
- Some possible interactions in the apartments give a temporary buff: Taking a shower – grants the Chilled status for one hour (allows you to regenerate health in combat. Health regenerates on its own up to 60% of the maximum threshold. If you also have the Regeneration perk, this status increases your speed and regeneration threshold by 20%), “Sleep in Bed”- grants “Rested”status for one hour and heals you (you get +20% to skill experience), “Making Coffee”- grants “Energy”status for one hour (+25% max stamina, +30% regen)
- Now you can change some aspects of your appearance (hair, makeup, piercings, etc.) using a mirror in one of your apartments and hideouts. These modifications are free and can be done as many times as you wish. Character customization includes more makeup and hair color options.
- Two new weapons: the Kinetic UMBRA assault rifle from Darra Polytechnic, the Kinetic Guillotine submachine gun from Budget Arms.
- Four new scopes: JUE Kang Tao long scope, Gaki Tsunami sniper scope, Kanetsugu Arasaka short scope, Handyman short scope.
- Ten new muzzle brakes: five for pistols (RC-7 Ifrit, RC-7 Liger, RC-7 Dybbuk, RC-7 Kutrub, RC-7 Babaroga) and five for assault rifles and submachine guns (RC-7 Aswang, RC- 7 Varkolak, RC-7 Zaar, RC-7 Yokai, RC-7 Strigoi)
- New photo mode poses
AI in combat

- Multiple improvements to dismemberment triggers, wound reactions, and death animations for greater impact in melee and ranged combat.
- Enemies are now much better at blocking and dodging attacks (Kerenzikov). The heavier the weapon, the easier it will hit the target. For avoidance, it’s the other way around.
- Diverse melee and ranged combat behaviors for different factions: reckless, aggressive, balanced, defensive and cautious.
- Companions are now more involved in combat, but can be defeated and temporarily incapacitated if they take too much damage.

- Waiting affects the state of the NPC and resets the state of devices, environments, and some scenes.
- Character reaction, movement and disappearance improvements.
driving system
- Our new Burn Out mode is ready! Accelerate and brake at the same time to engage it and all you have to do is turn the steering wheel. In the old system, you could only shoot on the spot: play with the controls to see what’s possible now! Burns, donut, drift or dragster start, anything is possible. This system now also works at high speeds, so you can brake when accelerating during a tight turn to avoid oversteer on most vehicles. Keyboard players can now use new additional arrow keymaps (some keyboards don’t recognize pressing the third key with ZQSD keys),
- The new brake system guarantees stable operation at all speeds. Added ABS simulation. The brakes of all vehicles have been adapted to the new system.
- Improved engine simulation. Clutch simulation added. These modifications improve the drag forces of the engine during gear changes, which helps to limit wheel spin.
- Improved gearbox simulation. Significant improvement when downshifting. The gearbox now downshifts realistically and uses more efficient shift logic to keep the engine in the perfect position. Forward/backward switching (and vice versa) has been completely redesigned and allows you to turn 180 degrees.
- Improved motorcycles. All of the above improvements give them more stability. Steering model changes have also been added and refitted.
- Improved settings for various vehicles. Steering improvements and other tweaks for Quadra Type 66 (all models, especially Avenger), Mizutani Shion (especially MZ2), Herrera Outlaw and base MaiMai.
- First person view settings for all vehicles that needed it. In addition, nomad vehicles with CrystalDome technology digitally remove obstructing objects.
Movement
- Visual traffic improvement: cornering and suspension
- Panic Danger Response: Driver NPCs can now panic and run away from danger. Passenger NPCs can now die in car crashes.
- Crash Response: Vehicles now have a wider range of reactions to light collisions. They also get back into traffic more easily.

As a result, all equipped modules are returned to your inventory. Open the inventory window to re-equip them according to the new rules.

- Two new stats have been added to replace evasion: soften chance and soften degree. Mitigation Chance determines your percentage chance to reduce damage taken. The amount of attenuation determines the percentage of damage reduction (50% by default).
- Components previously required to improve evasion now affect mitigation. For example, the attribute “Reflexes”, perks like “Mongoose”, “Vanish”or “Human Shield”, some clothing modules and cybernetic implants, etc.
- Rebalanced damage over time effects, generally resulting in a reduction in primary damage effects such as burns, bleeds, and poisons.
- Reduced the chance to break the Smart Bullet’s trajectory thanks to Tyger Claws glowing tattoos.

- Increased the implant duration of V’s optical camouflage from 5/10/15 to 10/15/15 per rarity.
- Added optical camouflage option for some NPCs.

- It is now possible to activate or deactivate devices while transporting a body.

NPCs
- Reduced the health of opponents in Beat on the Brat, with the exception of the Twins. Difficulty now depends primarily on their ability to block and/or dodge attacks.
