Fujifilm announces significant price increases for film as well as paper and developing chemicals.
A few years ago, to take pictures, you needed a camera, of course, and film. Today, all this, so to speak, is no longer necessary. The smartphone acts as a device and the photos are digital. From now on, film photography is reserved for a niche, whether professionals or simple enthusiasts. However, it must be admitted that there is something very pleasant in shooting photographs on film. But, unfortunately, now the operation will cost more.
Fujifilm announces significant price increase for film
If you’re still into film photography, expect your budget to skyrocket. Indeed, according to Fujifilm, which today produces the vast majority of film still used in cameras, it seems that the price of the latter will rise by 20-60%. The company explains that they have done everything possible to reduce costs by increasing production efficiency, but, unfortunately, the final price for the end buyer will still grow quite significantly.

The company also specifies that the prices of other products related to film photography, such as paper and certain chemicals used to process color photographs, will also increase by 10-20%. In other words, whether you ship your rolls for development or develop them yourself, expect to pay more for that too.
Fujifilm explains that this film price revision went into effect on April 1st. Rising prices for paper and chemicals for processing color photographs, meanwhile, will occur in May. Film photography is already much more expensive than its digital counterpart today, but as the cost of media and chemicals rises, the gap will become even more pronounced. And it’s a shame.
