Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 12 series late last year in China. Earlier this year, the company launched three of its flagship Android smartphones in Europe – Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X. Xiaomi 12 Pro is the only flagship smartphone from this series currently available in India. The company is preparing to launch the Xiaomi 12 Ultra in China.
Xiaomi has confirmed that its new flagship smartphone will be coming to its home country soon. The company has yet to confirm an official launch date. Before Xiaomi announces the launch date of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, a new report has shed some light.
Launch of Xiaomi 12 Ultra in the first week of July
The launch date of Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be officially announced in the coming days. A new report claims that teasers will arrive from June 28th. A TechGoing report claims that Xiaomi will start teasing the launch of its Ultra flagship on June 28th.
It further claims that the device will debut in China on July 5th. Since there is no track record to back up the leak, it’s a good idea to treat the leaked details with a grain of salt.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra will have top-notch specs. The company is expected to release a phone with cameras customized by Leica. It will be powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
Design renders of the 12 Ultra have been leaked in the past. Images show that Xiaomi will ditch the rear display on its new flagship and instead launch it with a huge camera module on the back. The round camera module sits on top of the rectangular island.
The device is rumored to feature a 50MP Sony IMX989 main camera, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and dual periscope camera sensors. On the front, there will be a 6.6-inch curved AMOLED display with a hole-punch cutout at the top center. It will support a 120Hz refresh rate and will have very thin bezels.
There will be a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. Xiaomi will also pack a 5,000mAh battery and support up to 120W fast charging out of the box. More details on the 12 Ultra should come as we get closer to launch.
