Google Pixel 7 (128GB, unlocked) for $349 ($599)
Our Android reviewer Ron Amadeo has determined that the Pixel 7 Pro is the best Android phone you can buy. The Pixel 7 uses the same SoC as the $900 Pixel 7 Pro, so it’s on par for speed and currently sells for less than half that price. The 6.3-inch 90Hz display is smooth and enjoyable to use, while the 50MP main camera and 12MP ultra-wide camera deliver crisp, creative shots and AI features like Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur. We didn’t have a lot of success with Google’s Unblur in our testing, but the Magic Eraser worked well and does its job well overall. The current price is the lowest we’ve seen for the Pixel 7 – $200 off the suggested retail price and $100 off the regular retail price.
Apple MacBook Pro 14″(2023) M2 Pro 16GB RAM & 512GB SSD $1850 (1999 USD)
When we reviewed the 2023 MacBook Pro, we called it “the best laptop you can buy today, by almost every measure.”Aimed at power users who demand powerful performance and a diverse array of built-in ports, the 2023 MacBook Pro only improves on an already impressive laptop. Those improvements include better performance and efficiency from the M2 Pro or M2 Max chip, and an HDMI port that Apple says is capable of handling 4K at a higher refresh rate than 60Hz, or 8K at 60Hz.
If you already have a 2021 model, there is no need to upgrade. However, if you need a new laptop, you can buy a 14-inch unit with an Apple M2 Pro chip, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD for $ 1,850. That’s $100 off the regular retail price, $150 off the MSRP, and the lowest price we’ve seen on a new 14-inch MacBook. If you want the same configuration with the larger 16-inch MacBook Pro (and its upgraded M2 Pro chip), it’s also on sale for a record low $2,350. It’s $150 off the MSRP and $100 off the lowest price we’ve seen.
Samsung T7 Shield 1TB Portable SSD for $80 ($160), 2TB for $130 ($290), 4TB for $270 ($430)
Samsung’s latest T7 Shield SSD is a ruggedized version of the T7, drop tested to 9.8 feet and IP65 dust and water resistant. In our testing, we described Samsung’s products as “a favorite portable SSD…[known] for their small size and solid performance.”We found Samsung SSDs performed well in both speed and reliability. Today’s offerings include record-breaking prices for the T7 Shield in a variety of capacities, including 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB models. Samsung microSD cards and internal SSDs are also sold. This includes the high-performance 980 Pro SSD with a heatsink and the new 990 Pro without a heatsink.
If you take one of these, be sure to update your device’s firmware to the latest version. Samsung’s 980 and 990 SSDs have been plagued with some reliability and data loss issues lately, but Samsung says it’s resolved the issues with a firmware update.
