How to unlock subclasses in Destiny 2
- You can unlock subclasses for a character by completing a quest at the Cosmodrome.
- You can talk to Ikora Rey or Commander Zavala, who will assign you a mission called Rise of the Guardians.
- After completing this mission, you will receive another mission called “Spark of Hope”.
- However, you do not need to complete this mission to unlock subclasses.
- Once this mission is triggered, head to Ikora Rey, who will give you the Hidden Power of Light.
- Now, with this hidden power, you need to complete the assigned mission to unlock your subclass.
- Depending on the type of your class, you will receive missions with different names.
- If you are a Titan, you will receive the quest “Start the Flame”.
- For warlock classes, it’s Staring into the Abyss.
- And for classes like “Hunter”this mission is called “Riding the Storm”.
- Although the names are different, the purpose of all classes is the same. You need to collect 25,000 XP and collect 10 Orbs of Power to charge up your hidden elemental type.
How many subclasses are there
Destiny 2 has four subclasses for all three classes. And these subclasses are common to any class you choose. It can be a Titan, Warlock or Hunter class. These four subclasses are also divided according to two main criteria. One of them is a subclass of Light, which has three types of elementals, and the other is a subclass of Darkness, namely Stasis. Returning to the subclasses of light, here are the following elemental types:
- Solar
- Arc
- Emptiness
When you start, you will get one subclass depending on the class you chose. For the Titans, this is the Guardian of the Solar Elemental. Players who choose the Warlock class type will start with Dawnblade, which is an elemental type of Void. Finally, for Hunters, it’s Arcstrider, which is an Arc elemental. On top of that, you can also unlock more skill trees for Light subclasses as you progress. You can do this by leveling them up with upgrade points.
