Destiny 2 Lightfall won’t be coming to Xbox Series X | S fix

Destiny 2 Lightfall is here, but many Xbox Series X or S players are unable to play the game and need a fix because it won’t launch. New extensions or DLCs can often be released with bugs that can cause such errors. And surprisingly, there is a very simple way to fix this. So, here is how you can launch Destiny 2 Lightfall by fixing the startup error.

How to fix Destiny 2 Lightfall won’t launch on Xbox Series X | WITH

You can launch Destiny 2 Lightfall by deleting old DLCs from your console. This is not an official fix, just a workaround. As soon as the developers release the update, your DLCs should start working too. In the meantime, here’s how to launch Destiny Lightfall 2:

  1. Press the Xbox button on the home screen. Be sure to close Destiny 2 if you’ve tried to play it.
  2. Select Destiny 2 from the list of games.
  3. Press the menu button on your controller and select Manage game and add-ons.
  4. Here select Destiny 2 and it will show you a list of all the DLCs installed on your console.
  5. Uncheck these add-ons:
    • Destiny 2: Forsaken – Black Armory
    • Destiny 2: Forsaken – Joker Wild
    • Destiny 2: Forsaken – Penumbra
    • Destiny 2: Forsaken – Annual Pass
    • Expansion I: Curse of Osiris
    • Expansion II: Warmind
  6. This number may vary depending on the amount of DLC installed on your console.
  7. Finally, select Save Changes.

Your Xbox Series S or X will start removing all of these DLC add-ons. Once they’ve all been removed, restart your console and try launching Destiny 2. This time, Destiny 2 Lightfall will launch without issue.

If you’re interested in DLC, don’t worry, you can still play with them. You just need to wait for some updates, where the developers will fix this bug and the DLC will start working with the game again.
