Lenovo Legion Y90 design officially unveiled in teaser video

We learned last month that Lenovo is working on a new gaming phone, and as it turns out, the brand is working not only on a gaming phone, but also on a tablet, as seen in recent teasers. Lenovo will be launching these new devices in the Legion lineup, the Lenovo Legion Y90 gaming phone and the Legion Y700 gaming tablet.

A short teaser video was posted on Lenovo Legion’s official Weibo account some time ago, showing the Legion Y50 turned off, and from the video, it is confirmed that the phone will look like the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 released last year.

Lenovo Legion Y90 has a striking design.

The video shows the back of the phone with the camera module right in the center instead of at the top. There’s a dual camera setup, and it looks like Lenovo is using the camera module section for additional purposes, like vents for thermals. There’s also Y-shaped RGB lighting, LED flash, and the Legion logo.

The camera module is located centrally on the rear panel.

However, the front of the Lenovo Legion Y90 is the same as most regular smartphones, but without a notch or hole. Instead, the front-facing camera appears to reside inside the top bezel. The phone has a flat display with rounded corners.

Previous teasers have revealed that the Lenovo Legion Y90 will come with two USB-C ports. There will be a USB-C port on the left edge of the phone, and another one on the bottom, just like any other smartphone. The volume keys are on the left and the SIM card slot is on the bottom.

Little is known about the hardware

In terms of specs, the Lenovo Legion Y90 could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. At the same time, it will be equipped with a huge 6.92-inch Samsung E4 HDDR AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a touch sampling rate of 720Hz. Some sources are also talking on the phone about dual air-cooled engine technology. However, Lenovo hasn’t said much about it, but is now pretty sure that a gaming phone will hit the shelves soon.
