It is known that the yellow-scaled dragon Syrax, ruled by Rhaenyra Targaryen, gave birth to one of the last dragons of Westeros.
The House of the Dragon prequel depicts the Targaryen dynasty at the height of its power, with over 15 dragons under their rule. Most empires, real or imagined, fall from such heights. In the case of the Targaryens, their slow fall begins nearly 193 years before the events of Game of Thrones, when King Viserys Targaryen breaks an age-old tradition by appointing his daughter Rhaenyra as heir to the Iron Throne. But when Viserys conceives a son, the court is shocked to see that Rhaenyra retains her status as heir, and seeds of discord sprout throughout the kingdom.
Fire will reign.
