Dopamine jailbreak lead developer Lars Fröder, also known as @opa334dev, released an updated build of the iOS 15-centric jailbreak tool for arm64e devices Sunday afternoon.
In an announcement shared to X, Fröder said that Dopamine version 1.1.6 had been released and that it wasn’t a particularly major update, nor was it a required one. Instead, it simply bundles in the latest versions of the Sileo and Zebra package manager apps to improve the experience for first-time jailbreakers.
While existing Dopamine jailbreak users can obviously install this update if they want to, it won’t serve any real purpose other than dismissing the update available prompt in the Dopamine app. That’s because existing users can already download and install the latest version of Sileo or Zebra on their device without installing the latest update.
The primary reason for Dopamine version 1.1.6 is to eliminate the additional step that new jailbreak users would need to perform to update their package manager app after jailbreaking. That’s obviously because the tool now bundles the latest version of those package manager apps right out of the box.
Dopamine is a rootless jailbreak that supports iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1 on arm64e devices, which includes a range of iPhones and iPads including the iPhone XS and later.
If you’re not already taking advantage of the Dopamine jailbreak, then you can follow the steps outlined in our tutorial to get started.
