A drone equipped with a defibrillator saved the first life. There is no doubt that such great stories will multiply.
If you are facing a real medical emergency, the first thing you will do is call for help. This can take a very long time for ambulances or firefighters to arrive because they are stuck in a traffic jam, you are in a very hard to reach place or something else. What to do in these cases? It is in order to manage these situations that the medical industry has been working for some time, especially with drone manufacturers. Today, a drone with a defibrillator saved his first life.
Defibrillator drone saves first life
According to an Everdrone report, one of the airborne emergency medical delivery service drones saved a life. According to the article, Swedish emergency authorities used a drone to deliver a defibrillator to a person in need at home.
Luckily, there was a doctor there who was going to work and knew how to use the device after CPR. The complete delivery of the device took about 3 minutes and saved the patient’s life.
No doubt such beautiful stories will multiply
According to Everdrone CEO Mats Sallström, “This is a great real-life example of how Everdrone’s innovative technology, perfectly integrated with emergency controllers, can minimize access time to emergency equipment such as an automated external defibrillator (AED) that saves lives.”
This is not the first time drones have been used to deliver goods. We’ve heard stories in the past about drones being tested for food delivery. Today it looks like using drones to deliver medical equipment and save lives is a new opportunity we can look forward to.
