The Biden administration is taking additional steps to address privacy concerns that emerged following the Supreme Court’s decision to reverse Roe v. the United States. Wade. In a new executive order regarding access to abortion and other issues, the White House wants to try to increase protection for people who go to reproductive health facilities. However, it is not clear what exactly this action will lead to.

The executive order points to “the potential threat to patient privacy caused by the transfer and sale of sensitive health data and digital surveillance.”And he’s advising other agencies like the Federal Trade Commission without proposing any new rules.
Instead, the executive order gives free rein to the FTC and the Department of Health and Human Services. For example, he explains that the chairman of the FTC is “encouraged to consider actions. .. to protect people’s privacy when seeking information about reproductive health services.”It also says the Attorney General and Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services should “consider actions to educate people about how best to protect their health privacy and limit the collection and sharing of their health data.”
