This year’s E3 Destiny has been in stagnation for months, but it looks like it’s now officially confirmed to be cancelled. Earlier this year, there were rumors that E3 might be cancelled, but subsequent ones suggested that it could be held online again this year, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
This year’s event has been cancelled, but it has also been confirmed that it will return next year as an in-person event for the first time in almost 3 years. The show has always been the biggest gaming show of the summer and offers publishers and developers a huge stage to showcase some of their most exciting games and announcements.
E3 2022 will no longer take place
E3 is usually home to some of the biggest game announcements, but over the past few years, several other game shows have been able to take on some of that brilliance. This includes the annual The Games Awards, hosted and produced by Jeff Kaylee, and the Summer Games Fest, also produced by Kayley.
Following the cancellation of E3, Kaley confirmed that Summer Games Fest will indeed return this June with a range of activities. It will be interesting to see if E3 can return as one of the top gaming events next year as an in-person event.
E3 in-person has been home to some of the biggest announcements and gaming moments ever, such as Keanu Reeves’ surprise “breathtaking”appearance in Cyberpunk 2077 during the 2019 Xbox conference. Speaking of Xbox, they practically won 2021 offline. conference with many exciting announcements and trailers.
The return to the face-to-face show is likely to be a major change of pace, and it will be interesting to see how the gaming audience reacts to it.
