Hollywood superstars Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana will star in a new film by Jacques Audiard.
Delayed by six months due to scheduling conflicts with the cast (Carla Sofia Gascon, Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana), Emilia Perez, a new film directed by Jacques Audiard, shooting is now scheduled for April next year (previously scheduled in Mexico but now scheduled in studios near Paris). It will be filmed in English and Spanish.

Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana will play Carla Sofia Gascon in Emilia Perez.
Carla Sofia Gascon, an up-and-coming Argentinean transgender actress, will play a fearsome Mexican cartel boss who changes gender to avoid the law and become the woman he always wanted to be. The screenplay was written by Jacques Audiard with the help of Thomas Bidegen. Emilia Perez is produced by Why Not Productions and Page 114. Veterans, the company of Vincent Maraval and Kim Fox, is in charge of international sales, while CAA Media Finance represents the North American territories.
Please note that this film is a sequel to Jacques Audiard’s black-and-white relationship drama in Paris, 13th arrondissement, which had its world premiere at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.
