Emulators have become an essential part of saving games in an increasingly digital age where games on older consoles like the PS3 can often become unplayable pretty quickly, with RPCS3 taking the lead. The emulator has been the perfect choice for players running PS3 games on their PCs and has been hugely successful so far, running over 60% of the games in the PS3 library quite well.
Now RPCS3 has announced a major milestone as the emulator can now load every game in the PS3 library seamlessly. This is a hugely positive development as there are some great games in the PS3 library that unfortunately can’t be played on the new PlayStation consoles due to lack of backwards compatibility.
RPCS3 can now load any PS3 game
It would be a huge understatement to say that the PS3 library has a ton of great games, as it’s arguably one of the most complex console generations ever. From hits like Red Dead Redemption (2010) and Metal Gear Solid 4 to underrated classics like Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and Spec Ops: The Line.
The developers also commented on their efforts to destroy any game in the Downloadable category and hopefully bring 100% of the library to the Playable category in the next few years. While this is certainly a very difficult task, the developers managed to score a major victory with RPCS3.
RPCS3 currently has 3233 games, 65.53% of the total games in the PS3 library that can be played and competed without any major glitches in the game. This number is already impressive and can only increase.
