If you’re interested in yet another small mod for your jailbroken phone’s home screen that will improve the look of your app icons, then you might check out the new free release of a jailbreak tweak called dock label from iOS developer ElioFeg.
Once installed, the dock shortcut does exactly what it sounds like – it adds labels to app icons on the home screen dock.
Apple seems to avoid using app icon labels in the Dock because these are your “favorite”apps that you have selected and are unlikely to be confused with other apps, but for the sake of consistency we can understand why some users might still want this app icons., labeled the same as the rest of the icons on their home screens.
The developer claims that they created a dock label in response to the /r/jailbreak request, which we think is great because it shows that the developers are making jailbreak dreams come true.
If you’d like to try dock label on your device, you can download it for free from ElioFegh’s personal repository through your favorite package management app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS and iPadOS 13 and 14 devices and doesn’t have any options to tweak.
If you’re not yet taking full advantage of ElioFegh’s personal repository, you can add it to your package manager app of choice using the URL we’ve embedded below:
What do you think about placing app icon labels on the home screen dock? We can’t wait to read about your side of the debate in the comments section below.
