This free jailbreak tweak allows jailbreakers to add unsupported cards to the Wallet app.

iOS has undergone significant changes over the years, and some of these updates have added support for new payment, ID, and transit card types in the operating system’s native Wallet app. Unfortunately, anyone running an older version of iOS won’t see these features, which is especially frustrating for jailbreakers who can’t update to the latest firmware without losing their jailbreaks.

Enter NoTransitCardVersionLimit, a new free jailbreak setting from iOS developer Brend0n that allows jailbreakers on earlier versions of iOS to add specified card types that are normally only supported by the Wallet app on later versions of iOS.

Referring to the description of the developer setting, NoTransitCardVersionLimit does wonders for making the Wallet app think you’re on a newer version of iOS than you actually are. In this way, you can add various cards that are not usually supported by your firmware version, since many of the features of the Wallet app are server based.

In a thread posted to /r/jailbreak, a user describes adding a traffic map to the Wallet app on iOS 13.4.1, which is normally only supported by the Wallet app on iOS 13.5 and later. Moreover, the user successfully used the card, which is why it was added to the Wallet app for more than just appearance. Similar success stories have been posted in replies to the original post.

It’s worth noting that cards added to the Wallet app using NoTransitCardVersionLimit will only work in Jailed state because they are not supported in Unjailed state otherwise. Having said that, it’s something to keep in mind if you’re prone to having your battery drain more often than most, or if you’re experiencing frequent reboots for other reasons.

Given the obvious pitfalls of limiting what you can and can’t add depending on the firmware version you’re using, it’s easy to see why jailbreakers would want to use a setting like NoTransitCardVersionLimit to bypass such stupid software restrictions.

If you want to try out NoTransitCardVersionLimit, you can download the tweak for free from Brend0n’s personal repository through your favorite package management app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13 and 14 devices and doesn’t have any options to tweak.

Those who are not yet using Brend0n’s personal repository can add it to their favorite package manager application using the URL below:
