This jailbreak tweak causes iOS 15-16 devices to behave differently based on network connections.

If you’ve jailbroken on iOS or iPadOS 15 or 16, you can use the jailbreak tweak called SmartNetwork iOS 15-16 by iOS developer Elias Sfeir to enjoy more advanced network-centric features than any standard device.

SmartNetwork iOS 15-16 is the latest version of a series of customizations offered by Sfeir over the years, and it provides what the developer describes as a two-part customization. The first part is about an app that displays the SSIDs of all the Wi-Fi networks you’re connected to and their respective passwords, while the second is about changing your device’s behavior based on the network you’re connected to.

While iOS and iPadOS 16 can already display saved Wi-Fi passwords natively, this is not the case with iOS or iPadOS 15. Because of this, iOS and iPadOS 15 users who have jailbroken their device can enjoy a feature that is normally only available in new versions of iOS and iPadOS.

But the app that lets you view saved Wi-Fi passwords isn’t the most important part of the setup, but rather all of the network-centric settings you can tweak to change how your device behaves when connected to certain networks, among other things.

Once installed, users will find a dedicated settings panel in the Settings app where they can adjust many different settings:

Here, users can configure global settings, Smart Wi-Fi settings, Smart data settings, and Smart Bluetooth settings. As you might expect, Smart Wi-Fi settings refer to when your device is connected to Wi-Fi networks, Smart data settings refer to when your device is connected to cellular networks, and Smart Bluetooth settings refer to when your device connected to certain networks. Bluetooth devices.

Among some of the things that users can customize with SmartNetwork iOS 15-16 are the following:

  • Get notified when certain apps connect to the cellular network so you don’t waste too much data.
  • Get notified when Wi-Fi goes down and cellular data starts to be used instead
  • Prevent certain apps from running when connected to cellular data
  • Prevent certain apps from using your Wi-Fi connection
  • Prevent certain applications from accessing the Internet at all
  • Boost Wi-Fi Signals by Removing Native iOS Restrictions
  • Turn off background cellular data usage by apps
  • Turn off cellular data when you lock your device and turn it back on when you unlock your device.
  • Turn Wi-Fi data off when you lock your device and turn it back on when you unlock your device.
  • Turn off cellular data whenever you turn on low power mode
  • Automatically disconnect Wi-Fi and switch to cellular when Wi-Fi signal drops below 1 bar, and reconnect when Wi-Fi signal rises to 2 bars or more.
  • Automatically turn off cellular data when connected to Wi-Fi and turn it back on when disconnected from Wi-Fi.
  • Disable password and biometric authentication requirements to use your device when connected to trusted Wi-Fi networks.
  • Get notifications when connecting and disconnecting from a Wi-Fi network
  • Double-tap the status bar to view a list of nearby Bluetooth devices and interact with them.
  • Disable password and biometric authentication requirements to use your device when connecting to trusted Bluetooth devices.

In the spirit of Sfeir’s previous SmartNetwork jailbreak tweaks, it appears that SmartNetwork iOS 15-16 uses the same feature sets and adds support for newer firmware. With that in mind, if you’ve used the previous version before, then the latest version will sound familiar to you.

If you want to have more control over what your device does or doesn’t do when connected to certain cellular, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth connections, you can purchase the SmartNetwork iOS 15-16 jailbreak tweak for $1.99 . from the Havoc repository via your favorite package manager. Obviously, setup requires a jailbroken iOS device or iPadOS 15 or 16.
