Women’s National Football League players are coming to FIFA 23. Join us on March 25th to enjoy the game.
The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) is coming to FIFA 23. Electronic Arts recently announced that the game will be playable by all 12 NWSL teams starting March 15 through a licensing partnership signed with the league and the NWSL Players Association. All twelve NWSL teams and all female team players will now also be part of the game’s license, including when the game is rebranded as EA Sports FC in a few months.
Women’s National Football League players move to FIFA 23
FIFA 23 has launched with all 24 Women’s Super League and Division 1 teams in the UK and France. The game also marked the first time EA featured a female player on the cover and Chelsea’s Sam Kerr featured on the cover of the Ultimate Edition. Either way, the franchise has come a long way since FIFA 16, when EA first added female professional players.
As such, starting March 15, all 12 NWSL teams will be available in FIFA 23’s Kick-Off Modes and will now be playable in Tournament Mode, as well as Online Seasons and Friendlies. If both teams participate in the NWSL, EA explains that players will get an “authentic”match streaming experience. Otherwise, the company adds the ability to play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) in Kick-Off and Tournament modes. It also adds four new European clubs, including Juventus and Real Madrid, to complement the UWCL experience.
See you on March 25 to take advantage of this
“The athletes who play in the NWSL are some of the best in the world and we are thrilled to be able to further advance their talent through this unique gaming experience,” said NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman. “We can’t wait for the fans to start playing and look forward to continuing this player and league celebration as we kick off our 11th season on March 25th.”
FIFA 23 is available on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
