If you’re into tweaking folders on a jailbroken iPhone or iPad, you might be interested in the recently released free tweak FolderX from iOS developer Lizynz.
In a post posted to /r/jailbreak on Monday, Lizynz said that FolderX is a continuation of their popular FullFolder jailbreak tweak from the 2015-2019 era. They also mentioned that FolderX was supported both rooted and non-rooted in the Palera1n and Fugu15 Max jailbreaks on all firmware versions from iOS and iPadOS 15.x to 16.x.
With FolderX, you can do many different things to make your folders look different from the default ones, as shown above. Here are just a few of the things you can do to customize them: customize the header, customize the layout grid, customize gestures, enable quick access to settings, use the app counter, and colorize and style folders to your liking.
Once installed, you can swipe up inside any folder to bring up options that you can customize to your liking:
Among the things you can do here are:
- Make title bold
- Align the title however you want
- Adjust Header Size
- Enable iOS 9 Style Folders
- Colorize folder
- Turn on the “Milk”setting
- Choose between different grid layouts
- Folder Corner Radius Adjustment
- Enable App Counter
- Hide folder animation
- Hide folder shortcuts
- Enable auto-close folder
- Enable touch to close folders
- Enable drag and drop of multiple folders in edit mode
- Enable drag and drop of multiple widgets in edit mode
- Respring your device to save any changes you make
Digging into some of the coloring and style settings, you’ll find the following options:
Here you can:
- Colorize header
- Colorize home screen icon
- Colorize folder background
- Choose colors based on spectrum, grid or sliders
- Change transparency
- And more…
All these fun tweaks can give your jailbroken phone an interesting new folder aesthetic that will look completely different than on any stock device. Of course, there’s no limit to the possibilities when it comes to presets, so you can really get creative with all the different options.
If you’re interested in trying out the new FolderX setup, you can grab it for free from Lizynz’s personal repository through your favorite package management app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS and iPadOS 15 and 16 devices.
Anyone not yet using the Lizynz repository can add it to their package manager app using the URL below:
