Update 3.1 for Genshin Impact is out and it brings us a lot of different new things to try in the already huge open world of Teyvat. While exploring the newly added areas in Sumeru and exploring the Hypostyle Desert, players will eventually stumble upon them and begin the Golden Dream questline. Through this quest chain, you will find yourself in the palace-tomb of the late Crimson King and you will be tasked with opening his coffin. This is part of the “Secret of Al-Ahmar”quest inside the Mausoleum. In this guide, we will show you how you can try to open the coffin of King Deshret in Genshin Impact.
How to try to open a coffin in Genshin Impact
Once you get to the part of the quest “The Secret of Al Ahmar”where you are asked to open the coffin, you will find yourself in the center of the Mausoleum, where a huge coffin lies. To open the coffin, all you have to do is release four glowing cubes called Primal Embers, which head towards the Primal Torches. These are large pillars at the four corners of the coffin. Once the quest is active, you’ll even receive markers to pinpoint the location of Primal Embers, making it easier for you to find them.

You can find the first two Primal Embers by entering through the large doorway to the right of the room. You will now have two paths on each side to reach each of the original embers. To get to the Primal Ember on the right, players will have to use the Four Leaf Seal to teleport to the top of the platform where you will find the first Primal Ember. As for the Ember on the left, you will be guided by a hovering Visible, which will lead you straight to the second Ember.
The remaining two Primal Embers can be found in the left doorway of the main room. At this point you will again have two paths on both sides. Heading to the left side, you must climb the stairs to the huge statue. Above this statue, you will find another four-leaf sign that will teleport you directly to the Third Ember. As for the last Ember on the right side, you need to go down the hallway to a large rotor on the floor, which will push you towards an airflow platform. Slowly slide towards this platform to find the last Primal Coal.
How to Release Primal Embers
Once you find Primal Embers, all you have to do is interact with each of them to free them. Embers will float and you will have to follow them to their respective primordial torches to activate them.
