In the new God of War Ragnarok, in addition to fighting deadly enemies, you’ll face some tricky puzzles. During the main story mission Finding Tyr, you will explore the mines of Svartalfheim in the Applecore region. There, you will come across a three-part puzzle that you must solve in order to progress. In this walkthrough, we will provide you with the solutions to all the Applecore waterwheel puzzles in God of War Ragnarok.
All Applecore Water Wheel Puzzle Solutions in God of War Ragnarok
To get to Applecore you will have to cross Jarnsmida Pitmines. In this region, you will get a small idea of the upcoming puzzles. As you enter the mines, you will encounter these pesky puzzles. To solve the Applecore puzzles in God of War Ragnarok, you must direct the flow of water to make all the water wheels work. Let’s dive into the details of this.
First Applecore puzzle
When you get to this mechanism, you will see a stationary water wheel and an aqueduct above it.
- The first step is to break the stone blocking the aqueduct. Use Atreus’ arrow to break it and unblock the flow of water.
- Then use your Leviathan Ax to target the part of the aqueduct above the water wheel. This will freeze the aqueduct and send water to the wheel to activate it.
- This will raise a claw-like chain that you can use to get to the other side.
The second solution to the Applecore waterwheel puzzle
To get here, you will have to defeat the Draugr. Make sure you have collected all the rewards from the hidden chests.
- In this part, you will need to activate the elevator.
- Here you will see another waterwheel on the left, but there are a few steps to follow before it can be activated.
- Drop down the hole on the right and open the chest.
- Use the chain to climb up, go forward and you will reach the mechanism at the end of the aqueduct.
- Use your Blades of Chaos to spin the machine and change the flow of water. This will activate the waterwheel and power the elevator.
- Now go back to the first water wheel. Here, use your Leviathan Ax to freeze the part of the aqueduct above the wheel.
- This will raise a claw-like hook that you can use to swing.
- On the right, use the ax again to freeze the water in the aqueduct above you. This will lower the lift.
- Once you enter the elevator, return your ax to go up to the next platform.
Third Applecore waterwheel puzzle
