How to Defeat the Wights in God of War Ragnarok
Whites are beasts or enemies that can levitate to get higher. You encounter them several times in GoW Ragnarok as you progress through the story quests. You will first encounter them while playing as Atreus during the quest The Fugitive. As an archer, Atreus can use several ranged attacks. But these beasts can deflect all kinds of runic attacks. As such, causing them serious damage can be a bit of a hassle. However, they are much easier to defeat compared to other large enemies or beasts that you will encounter later.
So here’s how to beat the Whites in God of War Ragnarok:
- As mentioned earlier, these beasts can deflect rune attacks in the same way as rune arrows.
- So, when you first encounter them as Atreus, use regular or basic arrows to damage them. You can press the R1 button to use the basic arrows.
- Since whites can fly over terrain, they can close distances fairly easily.
- You need to make sure you keep your distance against them. During melee combat, you can use a bow to deal damage to them.

- In addition, the Whites are very fast and have various Red and Blue Ring attacks up their sleeves. But there is a short time when they charge their blue attacks.
- You must interrupt them with a bow or other attacks to damage them.
- These beasts can also shoot three orbs of wisps at you. So, make sure you know how to parry, dodge and block their attacks.
- Once you defeat the wights, they will split into three orbs of wisps.
- You can stun or hit these orbs with Sigil and Sonic Arrows. Press the R2 button to use equipped Sonic or Sigil arrows.
