Google makes it easy to sync between Android smartphones and Chromebooks

Google is strengthening the bond between Android smartphones and Chromebooks with version 103 of Chrome OS.

Google is currently releasing Chrome OS version 103, which includes features to make it easier to share certain items between Chromebooks and Android devices. For example, Mountain View announced at CES that Phone Hub would receive an update. With a Chromebook, you can instantly access the latest photos taken on your phone, even when you’re offline.

When you take a photo with your smartphone, it automatically appears in the Recent Photos section of Phone Hub, allowing you to control some of your mobile device’s functions from your laptop. You still have to click on the image to upload it, but it’s a more elegant option than going to the Google Photos site or emailing it to yourself.

Another new feature is the Chromebook’s fast Internet connection. When you try to connect your Chromebook to a Wi-Fi network that is already registered on your Android smartphone, you can use the Share with Neighborhood feature. Go to the “Wi-Fi network”tab in the Internet settings on your phone. After selecting the Share option, you can click the Near button and select the Chromebook you want to connect. Your Chromebook will then be able to automatically sign you in and save your credentials at the same time.

In addition, Google said that the Chrome OS Screencast app, which was announced a few days ago, will be rolled out this week. You can use it to record and edit videos.

Later this summer, Chromebooks will also be able to quickly connect to hundreds of Bluetooth headphones and headphones, including, of course, Pixel Buds. Fast Pair will save the accessory to your Google account so your Chromebook and Android smartphone can use it easily.

Google also said that other features will be coming soon to make Chromebooks and Android devices even more connected. The American giant intends to compete with Apple in this segment. The Cupertino-based company has long offered deep integration across the various devices in its ecosystem, with features like sharing Wi-Fi passwords or syncing photos via iCloud…
