Many God of War Ragnarok players are unable to upgrade their Leviathan Ax to level 6. This is because you need to find Frozen Flame, which is required when upgrading it. How to Upgrade Leviathan Ax to Level 6 in God of War Ragnarok
You can upgrade your Leviathan Ax to level 6 by simply collecting Ice Flame from the game’s main storyline. Ice Flame is an important material that you will need, without which you will not be able to upgrade it. You can find it in all Nine Worlds. If you’re worried about checking every nook and cranny, don’t worry, you should find plenty of them in various boss fights. Here are all the ones that drop Frozen Flames during the main story of the game:
- Huntress: You can find her in the Upper Wild Forest during the first chapter of Surviving Fimbulwinter.
- Alva: You can find her in Alfheim during the passage of the fourth chapter “The Secret of Groa”.
- Nidhogg: You can find him in Vanaheim during the sixth chapter “Payback”.

How to maximize the Leviathan Ax
You can upgrade your Leviathan Ax to the max when you reach level 9. In order to upgrade it, you need to start completing the services and side missions of the game. This is because the main story is not enough to collect all the Frozen Flames in the game. Here are some side quest mini-bosses where you can find Frozen Flames:
- Crimson Dread: This is a mini-boss. You can find this boss by doing Favor to Vanaheim.
- Sisters of Illska & Svipdagr the Cold: Another Frozen Flame drops from a mini-boss. You can find them in Alfheim during the “Secret of the Favor of the Sands”quest.
