Gran Turismo 7: “Powered by PS5”, next-generation power for the famous car simulator

Polyphony Digital unleashes all the possibilities that the power of PS5 will offer Gran Turismo 7.

Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi explains how the power of PS5 will completely change the Gran Turismo 7 experience in a dev diary: “For the first time, this gives us the opportunity to achieve what we wanted to do from the very beginning of the license. Personally, I think we’ve finally reached a tangible level of realism. We used adaptive triggers as well as haptic feedback. One way to use these features is to recreate the feel of the brakes.

For example, when the brakes reach a certain point and lock up, the trigger resistance is extinguished. We are trying to use adaptive triggers to show this type of phenomena. In GT7, the Scapes feature will also benefit from ray tracing, which means the cars will look even better. I think the visuals that used to look like cutscenes don’t look like that anymore.

This is what ray tracing does. 4K, 60fps and HDR also make the game more realistic. When I ride the tracks, I really feel like the level of realism has gone beyond a certain level, and it’s always very eye-catching. This is the level of realism that we wanted to achieve from the very beginning of our work on the license. I found it very touching.”

Daytona International Speedway returns to Gran Turismo 7

Daytona International Speedway debuted in the Polyphony Digital series in 2007 with the release of GT5: Prologue before moving into Gran Turismo 5 and then Gran Turismo 6 in 2013. GT Sport was never added despite numerous updates. It will return in GT7 with a new version and usually with a different layout.

Gran Turismo 7 will be available on March 4 on PS5 and also on PS4.
