The feature film Gran Turismo, which will be released next year, is based on a true story.
Produced by Neil Blomkamp and written by Jason Hall, Gran Turismo from Sony Pictures Entertainment, PlayStation Productions and Columbia Pictures tells the story of a teenager who plays the famous car simulator from the Japanese studio Polyphony Digital and whose professional skills won a series of competitions organized by Nissan to become a real professional racer. Unless a name is officially revealed, Jann Mardenborough could be at the heart of this film adaptation scheduled for August 11, 2023 in Darkrooms.

Playing Gran Turismo in his spare time, he competed in the third GT Academy competition, a reality show where Gran Turismo 6 players competed on virtual tracks before moving on to real driving, becoming the youngest winner as well as the most successful of the show manufactured by Nissan and Sony. Since then Briton Jann Mardenborough has had some success in the professional world, competing in the Japanese Super GT series, the European F3 Championship, the GP3 series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
