The first thing you will need to repair your weapon is quartzite. Make sure you mine a lot of quartzite so you don’t have to go and mine it again. You can mine it with a level 1 hammer. You can find it in abundance in the Anthill northwest of the first field station. It can also be found next to the small cave where you researched the laser attenuation when trying to repair the Mysterious Object. Once you have the quartzite, go to your inventory and right click on the weapon you want to repair. You can click on the “Repair”tooltip and it will show you the material needed to repair said weapon. For example, you can repair a pebble spear with one pebble. As your weapons level up, the rarity increases and the amount of required materials increases. The amount of quartzite required is also increasing.

Weapon Repair Tips

  • The amount of quartzite required to repair a weapon is independent of its durability meter. Try to use the weapon for as long as possible and you will save some quartzite.
  • Avoid throwing weapons as they wear out faster.
  • Stock up on quartzite, as weapons can break at any time. You don’t want them to break in the middle of a fight.

Why should you repair your weapons?

In order to survive in this game against hostile insects, you will have to craft makeshift weapons. You can build them from collected materials or specific parts of insects. For example, a simple Pebblet spear requires:

  • 2x twigs
  • 3x vegetable fibers
  • 1x pebble

This weapon wears out after constant fights with insects. You can make stronger weapons, but they won’t last forever either. You must learn how to repair weapons. The status of the weapon will be displayed by a small indicator next to the weapon in the inventory. The weapon will break as soon as the counter reaches zero. The good thing is that you don’t have to make new weapons as soon as the old one breaks. They will remain in your inventory where you can repair them. This will save you some precious resources.

Weapons can be your best ally in this game. Treat them well and you will roam the area fearlessly. We hope you enjoyed our article and found everything you need on how to repair weapons in Grounded. For more articles, visit our Grounded section.
