343 Industries is still changing the Halo Infinite roadmap.
Despite help from Certain Affinity, American studio 343 Industries is struggling to catch up with Halo Infinite. As a result, it was decided to no longer develop the split-screen co-op campaign:
In order to improve and accelerate the development of current online services, as well as to better respond to player feedback and gameplay updates, we have reallocated studio resources and are no longer working on screen sharing for the campaign.
At the same time, Halo Infinite’s online co-op campaign, Forge beta, and Season 3 multiplayer have all been delayed. The community is getting impatient on social media and understands 343 Industries’ choice less and less, knowing that many talents have left Xbox subsidiary Game Studios in recent months to try new adventures.
What’s next for Halo Infinite
The online co-op campaign, which was scheduled to launch last August, will now be available next November with a winter update that will also include the Forge beta, Detachment and Argyle maps, the Covert One Flag game mode, as well as 30 free Battle Pass rewards. The third season of Halo Infinite content, Echoes Within, rescheduled to March 2023, will include Arena and Big Team Battle maps, the M392 Bandit weapon, the Shround Screen team, and 100 new Battle Pass rewards. Please note that a custom game manager, new game modes, and updates to the Forge beta (originally scheduled for September of this year) have also been announced for this period.
