After years of waiting, the Halo Infinite Campaign is finally here and players can dive into the final chapter of the Master Chief story on Xbox Game Pass. The game’s campaign is now available to download on Game Pass at no additional cost. To celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary, Xbox and 343 Industries released the free multiplayer game in open beta last month, and the campaign was released today.
Interestingly, players weren’t able to preload the Halo Infinite Campaign as it pretty much acts as an expansion to the multiplayer game. Players can download the campaign from within the game by launching the multiplayer mode if they have a Game Pass, or they can purchase the campaign separately from the Microsoft/Xbox Store.
Halo Infinite Campaign Now Available to Download on Xbox Game Pass
This is the first time in the franchise’s history that the campaign and multiplayer components have been released separately, but it’s possible other games will try to do so in the near future. The Halo Infinite campaign is arguably the most highly anticipated single player game of 2021, and rightfully so.
The game marks the return of a real playable character to a near-open world, a major departure from the Halo franchise. The game received generally positive reviews, with many praising the semi-open world structure and the return to a more human story with a focus on the Master Chief. Fans of the series will appreciate the opportunity to play as the Master Chief again after the last game shifted the focus a bit.
Xbox Game Pass is looking pretty cool right now, with a number of great titles from the Xbox developers like Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, and Psychonauts 2. The service has played a critical role in the success of new consoles, as well as search. a new audience on PC and erasing the boundaries of console exclusivity.
