HBO Max mistakenly uploads a censored version of Birds of Prey to its platform. The original version will return on an unspecified date.
In our digital age, a mistake has quickly occurred. It only takes one wrong click, one keystroke at the wrong time, and unwanted actions can be triggered. The consequences can be catastrophic if the operation is performed on a very sensitive machine, such as a corporate server or a large host on a network. There is no shortage of such examples. Today it’s HBO Max that makes the mistake with Birds of Prey.
HBO Max mistakenly uploads censored version of Birds of Prey to its platform
HBO Max sent another alternate edition of one of the DC Comics films to its platform. As reported by CBR and The Verge on their website, WarnerMedia communications director Johanna Fuentes has confirmed that HBO Max accidentally uploaded a censored TV version of the 2020 movie Birds of Prey. It’s been referenced as the R-rated cinemas version, if you start watching the movie, you’ll be watching the same “watered down”or at least “family”version that was shown on American television.
The original version will return at an unspecified date.
Johanna Fuentes promised that HBO Max would upload an R-rated version, but did not give a specific date for the version’s availability. This uncensored version will also be the only version available on the platform, as it has been for about a year now.
Unfortunately, the various articles do not indicate how this error could have occurred. WarnerMedia has been contacted by numerous media outlets about this, we will edit this article if they respond. At the same time, HBO Max does not mind strong words or violence in its content. Either way, it’s a pretty nasty time for a streaming service that hasn’t really come into its own yet, but one thing’s for sure: HBO Max has no plans to offer family content in the near future.
