Hot Wheels: Rift Rally comes out in March for high-octane mixed reality home racing.
Hot Wheels: Rift Rally is a new mixed reality video game from Velan Studios, the makers of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. Just like in a 2020 Nintendo game, you control a real RC car and your screen shows you an augmented reality view as if you were in the cockpit. The game will be available in March on PS5, PS4 and iOS.

The set includes a car that can be driven in two game modes: Campaign and Stunt. In the campaign, you set up a track in your bedroom, living room, or somewhere else, and have to do laps to complete different maps (each with unique challenges). In Stunt mode, you can ride anywhere, doing the show your way, multiplying tricks to beat your records.
The game also supports single and multiplayer campaign. If you’re playing with a friend or multiple friends, they can race in their own cars or, on PlayStation only, play co-op in the same car, with control passing from player to player.

The Chameleon car from the package can appear on the screen, as well as 22 different virtual cars with more than 140 options. There are “endless”customization possibilities: performance mods, for example, to increase acceleration. In addition, you can play many mini-games, puzzles and challenges to unlock other vehicles and modifications.
If the software is free, you need to buy at least the $130 Standard Edition with a Chameleon car, four Rift doors, and a charging cable. The $150 Collector’s Edition replaces the base Chameleon with a “special edition”and adds a non-playable McLaren Senna Hot Wheels miniature. Hot Wheels: Rift Rally will be officially available on March 14th. Pre-orders are already open.
