‘Game of Thrones’ releases in 4K HDR on HBO Max next month

HBO Max will offer Game of Thrones in 4K HDR, enough to rediscover the series in very high quality.

“Game of Thrones”is a record-breaking series. This is a fact, the figures confirm this. It would be a mistake for HBO not to take full advantage of this as the franchise is attracting fans today. As the House of the Dragon prequel series looms on the horizon, HBO Max has decided to give subscribers a sweet treat by allowing them to rediscover their favorite series in 4K HDR streaming.

HBO Max to offer ‘Game of Thrones’ in 4K HDR

House of the Dragon will be available starting August 21, but HBO Max is announcing that all eight seasons of the original Game of Thrones series will be available in 4K before then. It is the parent company of HBO, Warner Bros. Discovery, which just announced this in a press release highlighting upcoming releases on the platform, the press release was spotted by FlatpanelsHD. The company explains that all eight seasons will be compatible with Dolby Atmos, HDR10 and Dolby Vision. A good reason to redo everything? Or just the highlights? With or without last season? You decide.

What to rediscover the series in very good quality

Until now, the only way to enjoy the entire Game of Thrones in 4K has been to own an Ultra HD Blu-ray, which comes at a significant cost. 4K streaming will be much more affordable as all you need is an HBO Max subscription and a compatible device such as an Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K or Google Chromecast Ultra.

It’s worth noting that these same devices will allow you to watch House of the Dragon in 4K HDR when the long-awaited series airs on August 21. France doesn’t have HBO Max and doesn’t look like it’s worth counting on anymore, but the series will be available on OCS starting August 22.
