After introducing many devices of the Redmi K40 series, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the K50 series. The company has yet to announce a launch date for the K50 series. However, there are rumors that successor models of the Redmi K40 series will debut in China in December 2021. We may also see the debut of Redmi K50 series smartphones in international markets under the Xiaomi brand, Poco. Redmi K50 Gaming series specifications announced
The launch date of the Redmi K50 series remains unknown at the moment. However, the specs of two Redmi gaming devices have been leaked, codenamed Matisse and Rubens. According to XiaomiUI, starting with Xiaomi Matisse (L10), the device will have three regional variants to launch in China, India and other global markets. According to the IMEI list, the Redmi smartphone has model numbers 21121210C, 21121210I and 21121210G. The report also states that this device could be launched as Redmi K50 Gaming / Redmi K50 Gaming Pro in China and Poco F4 GT in other markets.
XiaomiUI claims that while the model numbers suggest a December 2021 launch, Redmi may not be able to release the device in time due to the device software being still under development. This device is rumored to feature the new MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC and a 120/144Hz OLED display. The screen will have a built-in fingerprint scanner from Goodix or FPC.
In terms of optics, Xiaomi Matisse will have a quad-camera setup. It will feature a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera, an 8-megapixel OmniVision OV08856 telemacro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is also an option with a 108 MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor.
Xiaomi Rubens, on the other hand, has the model number 22041211AC and is likely to be reserved for the Chinese market. It may debut as the Redmi K50 Gaming Standard Edition with a rumored MediaTek Dimensity 7000 SoC. It will have a triple camera setup on the back with a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW3 camera. The device is months away from launch and is expected to debut in April 2022.
