IKEA launches connected outdoor lamp with speaker, Bluetooth, 360-degree audio, Spotify Tap and 12 hours of battery life.
If you love spending time outdoors, now that the weather is nice, alone to read or relax, or with friends around a nice BBQ, for example, you might be interested to know that IKEA has just released a connected outdoor lamp/speaker. Called the Vappeby, it has a Bluetooth connection to enlighten you while playing your favorite songs at a barbecue, in your garden or on a hike.

And the best part is that the Vappeby lamp is also waterproof and IP65 certified. In other words, it should absorb a little moisture or a few drops very easily, but don’t swim in it! Part of the lamp, on the other hand, works using an LED, offering two lighting modes. This should take some time. With a USB-C connection and a battery, you can enjoy 12 hours of battery life.
360° sound, Spotify Tap and 12 hours of battery life
The speaker, for its part, offers 360° sound, and IKEA has even integrated a Spotify Tap feature that allows users who subscribe to Spotify to resume playing their music with the push of a button. Subscribers to other streaming services like YouTube Music, Apple Music, Tidal, or Deezer won’t be able to use this feature, but if you have a Spotify account, it’s pretty cool.
If you are interested in the IKEA Wappebi acoustic lamp and would like to treat yourself to one, know that it is not yet listed on the IKEA website in France, but it will be available soon, as in IKEA in Belgium, at a price of 59 euros, which makes it quite an affordable product to take your evenings and hikes to another dimension.
