Indiana Jones 5 to be John Williams’ last musical project

The American composer plans to retire after completing Indiana Jones 5 for producers George Lucas and Steven Spielberg and director James Mangold.

After more than six decades of music for Hollywood films, John Williams is putting the finishing touches on what could be his final film soundtrack: “I’m currently working on Indiana Jones 5, including Harrison Ford, who is younger than me,”announced it seems that this will be his last film. So I thought, “If Harrison could do it, then maybe I can.”I do not want to be perceived as a person who categorically excludes any activity. I can’t play tennis, but I like to believe that one day I can.”

After more than six decades of thrilling audiences through the music of “Star Wars,” “Jaws” “Jurassic Park” and other classics, John Williams says his upcoming work on “Indiana Jones 5” may be his last film score. https: / /t.co/nz6AkRBERz

John Williams credits composing music as more than a job as his career progressed: “It gave me the ability to breathe and live and understand that there is more to life than bodily life. Not being religious, which I am not particularly, there is a spiritual life, an artistic life, a reality that goes beyond the ordinary of everyday life. Music can elevate the mind to a poetic level. We see how necessary this is for humanity. I like to think that music is older than language, that people probably tapped rhythmically or blew hollow sticks before we could speak. It is an integral part of our humanity. She gave me life.”

The legacy of John Williams

At the origins of the symphonic soundtrack renaissance, John Williams is happy to have an impressive career in film and music: “My personality is that I look at what I have done – I am quite happy and proud of many things, but like most of us, we we always want to achieve more. We live in front of examples like Beethoven and Bach, the monumental achievements of people in music, and we can feel very humiliated. But I also feel very lucky. I had great opportunities, especially in the field of cinema, where a composer can have an audience not of millions, but of billions of people. I would like to be here in 100 years to see what people are doing with cinema, sound and space, sound and visual effects. The future is huge, I think. I feel great opportunities and a great future in an atmosphere of shared experience.
