Apple has released iOS 16.0.1 for its latest smartphones to fix iPhone 14 activation issues, zoom issues in the Photos app, and other annoying bugs.

iOS 16.0.1 Ready to Fix iPhone 14 Activation Issues
The new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models that go on sale this Friday will be preloaded with an older build of iOS 16 than the version of iOS 16 that Apple released to all users on September 12, which has build number 20A362.
But once customers have set up their device, 9to5Mac notes, they will be prompted to download and install the new iOS 16.0.1 update with build number 20A371.

According to the official iOS 16.0.1 release notes available on the Apple Developer Portal, this update is recommended for all users and fixes the following bugs:
– Resolves activation and migration issue during iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro setup – Photos may look faded when zoomed in landscape on iPhone 14 Pro Max – Enterprise single sign-on apps may not be authenticated
Apple asks you to connect to a Wi-Fi network during the iOS setup process so that the device can access Apple’s activation servers.
This is also when you might be prompted to download and install iOS 16.0.1 – even before you get to the home screen. This mechanism ensures that new iPhone owners receive the latest iOS updates and security patches early in the setup process.
When this update becomes public on Friday, September 16, you can install it on your iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, or iPhone 14 Pro Max by going to Settings → General → Software Update.
